ISM is designed to support IT management processes. This involves continuing the processes that work well, and making improvements where possible. Process coaching helps organizations to deal with gradual change, ensuring that the standard of service is not affected and that the most important areas for improvement are tackled first. Process coaching can be provided on a full-time basis or one day a month, for instance, all depending on the size of the organization, the desired implementation period and the capacity available for implementing the changes. Process coaching is provided by experienced consultants who are trained in ISM.
