Terms and definitions
In many organizations a lot of time and energy is wasted on internal discussions about the exact meaning of terms and processes.
ISM is supplied with a glossary that contains clear definitions of all the relevant terminology. This means that everyone in your organization will know exactly what terms such as domain and functional management really mean.
In the process description, templates and instructions, definitions and terminology are consistently used. This results in a uniform language and prevents unnecessary discussions on the exact meaning of procedures and instructions.
The standard definitions list can be extended with definitions that are company specific. If a certain term causes confusion or discussion, it is advisable that the organization adds the approved term to the list.
