Change management
The purpose of the change management process is to implement and coordinate changes to information systems using a plan-based approach.
The process structures the way in which the changes are made. The process relates to all changes to applications, systems and procedures that have been entered into the configuration-management database (CMDB) or, in the case of new services, those that still need to be entered into the CMDB.
The process sets out how the various types of change request are accepted, assessed, built, tested and implemented. Every time a change is made, the new situation is registered in the CMDB.
